What is ESP Thinking?

ESP Thinking was officially founded in 2016 but the ideas from which it was conceived go back some years further. These ideas began as simple tools to carry out individual tasks. Creating seating plans, making faster ways to collect marks, or to keep track of behaviour. However, it soon became clear that the real opportunity to help was to string these tools together. So suddenly the seating plan becomes a working interface to run a lesson. From there the ideas begin to grow. If you are recording behaviour, then why not automate the rewards and sanctions by taking running totals throughout the weeks and terms? In fact, why not go even further and allow these limits to differentiated for each student? We believe this is what sets us apart. Not just great tools, but a complete methodology designed to create new ways of working.

A former scientist and teacher who wants to change the world between panic attacks over collecting his kids on time from various activities and wondering if he left the oven on.

One of your media school whizz kid types who loves playing with cameras and computers and is a connoisseur of all things gin related. Just don’t get him started on his football team. 

A master negotiator with years of business acumen. Most likely to be found closing the big deals between the 18th & 19th holes of his local golf course. Having completed the previous 17 of course.

The new kid on the block but still comes with bags of design experience as well as the nous to dig us out of those technical holes that we have occasionally fallen head first into.

A coding guru that has helped us push the project forward yet keeps hours that would make a nightowl blush. Just how he manages all this whilst retaining his youthful looks is a mystery.

What makes us different?

Teaching can be a truly amazing occupation and we are not the first ones to suggest that technology can be a help. The difference with ESP though is the detail.  As we go through our set of applications we will be aiming to create new ways of tackling those time consuming, energy sapping jobs that keep taking you away from helping your students or having a life of your own. Often in teaching the idea of automating systems is linked with cutting corners. This is not the case here. This is an attempt to give teachers working frameworks where they collect useful data quickly and then share that to help give students the individual help and attention they need. This isn’t following trends, it is setting them.
